Christmas Parade

 

The annual Christmas Parade was held on December 6th at Noon on Montauk Highway
in Shirley and Mastic. Hundreds of people participated as thousands looked on.

Some groups marched,
Some groups performed at the bandstand,
and some groups had spectacular floats.
In addition to our grand marshalls, Tony Liberti, Joe Asaro and Tim Ryan, several of our elected officials and other V.I.P.'s were on hand for the festivities.
V.I.P.'s who marched included Brookhaven Town Supervisor Mark Lesko and U.S. Congressman Tim Bishop,
State Senator Brian Foley and
County Legislator Kate Browning,
and of course there was a visit
from good old St. Nick.
This year, the chamber's float comemorates
the naming of 6th District Town Councilman
Keith Romaine as the first honorary life member of The Chamber of Commerce of The Mastics and Shirley after his untimely passing on November 14 due to complications from pneumonia.
After the parade, trophies were awarded
for the best floats and organizations in several categories.
