June 2003 Last month's Networking meeting was a great success with over one hundred and twenty in attendance. Everyone had a chance to stop at the display tables and chat with the business owners.
Our Guest speaker gave all of us an update on the numerous projects in the works. These included the Visitor's Center, Smith Point Marina, improvements to William Floyd Parkway and a preview of options for the Montauk Highway Development Project.
Those who attended the April meeting had a chance to hear Commissioner Gulizio from Brookhaven Planning, Environment & Development give an update on the status of the development along the highway.
The Chamber's input to the Montauk Highway Project serves to ensure that the project reaches its goals. These include controlling traffic and creating a friendly and safe place where people will want to visit and shop.
As things continue to progress, the Chamber will continue to bring our Government Officials back to discuss issues important to the community, and to keep all of us informed.
